EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

The beginning of the 2017/18 school year has been a busy time working through the details of our emergency preparedness situation. Our September 2017 BPAC general meeting ran late to ensure all parties were heard.

In 2016, the BPAC decided to not replace the expired food held in the bin on the gravel field. This was based on the recommendations of Bernadette Woit, North Vancouver Schools Emergency Management Consultant. This has been supported by our school administration in their conversations with the school board. At this time (October 2017), the current BPAC executive will continue this path and not provide food for the bin.

BPAC continue their commitment to provide drinkable water in the bin on the gravel field in the case of an emergency. In November 2017 existing water was replaced with new water and broken shelving in the bin repaired by a parent volunteer.
